In February 2025, Meta rolled out Google Analytics integration to more advertisers, allowing them to connect Meta Ads with GA data. Meta’s internal study found a 5% increase in conversions when using Google Analytics integration for campaign tracking.
How It Works:
- Selecting a Google Analytics Property: Advertisers can link their Google Analytics property to their Meta dataset (Pixel).
- Defining Traffic Source Access: During setup, advertisers choose which traffic sources Meta can access in Google Analytics:
- All Traffic Sources: Provides complete access.
- Only Meta Traffic: Applies filters to include data solely from Meta click traffic (e.g., utm_source=facebook or utm_source=instagram).
- Configuring Event Mapping: Advertisers map Meta conversion events to corresponding Google Analytics conversion events.
This integration aims to bridge the gap between Meta's advertising platform and Google Analytics data, offering a more comprehensive understanding of campaign performance.
