This error can be super frustrating, especially if you've managed ads in the past. Here’s what’s likely happening and how to fix it:
1. You’re not a full Page admin.
Even if you’ve run ads before, Facebook requires full admin access to add a Page to a Business Portfolio.
→ Go to your Page settings > Page Access > Make sure your role is “Admin,” not just Editor or Advertiser.
2. The Page is already owned by another Business Manager.
A Page can only be owned by one Business Manager at a time. If it’s already claimed, you’ll either need admin access to that BM or request access instead of adding ownership.
3. Wrong Facebook profile logged in.
If you’re switching between personal profiles or managing multiple business accounts, make sure you’re logged into the exact profile that has Page and Business Manager access.
4. Business verification not complete.
If your Business Portfolio isn’t verified, Facebook might restrict certain actions like claiming Pages.
→ Go to Business Settings > Security Center to check your verification status.
5. Temporary Meta glitch (yep, it happens).
Try clearing your browser cache, switching browsers, or using Meta Business Suite instead of Ads Manager—it often works better for asset-level tasks.
