I setup enhanced conversion tracking but want to verify it was installed correctly to make sure it’s counting the actual revenue for each older conversion on and not using the default amount I put into AdWords.  Can I view the revenue for each conversion in AdWords, GTM or Analytics?

Yes, you can definitely verify if Enhanced Conversions are passing actual revenue correctly—but you'll need to check the data in a couple of places to confirm that the real revenue is being tracked instead of the default value set in Google Ads.

Here's How to Check if Revenue Tracking Is Working Properly:
1. In Google Ads (Recommended First Stop):

  • Go to Tools & Settings → Measurement → Conversions
  • Click into the specific conversion action (like “Purchase” or “Lead”)
  • Scroll to "Value" section
  • If it says “Use different values for each conversion”, you're on the right track
  • Then, go to Campaigns → Customize Columns → Add "Conversion value" and "Conv. value / cost" – This will show you the revenue per conversion as passed through Enhanced Conversions

If you’re seeing the same flat number for every conversion (e.g., always $50), it means the default value is being used—not real-time revenue data.

2. In Google Tag Manager (GTM):

  • Use Preview Mode (Tag Assistant)
  • Complete a test purchase
  • Check the dataLayer on the thank-you page – Look for variables like transaction_id, value, or currency
  • Confirm that value reflects the actual purchase amount, not a hardcoded number

3. In Google Analytics (GA4):

  • Go to Reports → Monetization → Ecommerce Purchases
  • Cross-check purchase revenue with what you’re seeing in Google Ads
  • Make sure the conversion events from Ads are also showing in Analytics with the expected revenue
