There’s no one-size-fits-all number, but for most accounts—especially when optimizing for performance and manageability—a good range is:
Recommended Campaign Count:
Small to Mid-Sized Accounts:
3–6 active campaigns
(e.g., 1 for cold traffic, 1–2 for retargeting, 1 for branded search, 1 testing campaign)
Larger or Scaling Accounts:
6–10 campaigns max
(including breakout campaigns for different products, audiences, or funnels)
Why Limit Campaign Count?
- Too many campaigns = budget spread too thin
- Meta/Google’s algorithms perform better with more data in fewer places
- Easier to manage testing, scaling, and performance tracking
- Focus on consolidated structures (e.g., CBO or ASC for Meta, PMax or tightly themed search for Google), and use ad sets or asset groups to segment inside campaigns instead of creating dozens of separate ones.
