If you've turned off an ad set or ad, but it’s still spending, that usually points to one of a few issues:
- Dashboard Delay: Sometimes Meta Ads Manager lags. It may show as "off" visually, but the server hasn’t processed it yet. Refresh the page, or check after a few minutes.
- Campaign Level Still Active: Even if you turn off the ad set or ad, if the overall campaign is still active, some ads could remain live depending on the structure. Make sure the campaign itself is also paused.
- Drafts or Duplicate Ads: Sometimes a duplicated ad (or a draft) might be running separately without you realizing it. Check all versions under the campaign.
- Publishing Error: Occasionally, changes don't publish properly. Try toggling it off again, then click "Publish" to confirm.
- Billing or Processing Glitch: If Meta can't process a change properly (rare but happens), it may continue showing spend. In this case, you’ll need to contact Meta Support through your Business Manager.
