You do need an Amazon seller account (or vendor account) to complete Amazon Brand Registry — you cannot register a brand without having an active account on Amazon.
- You must have a Professional Seller account or be a Vendor Central partner.
- Your brand must already have a registered trademark (or pending trademark in some countries).
- You log into Brand Registry using your Seller Central or Vendor Central login.
- Then you submit your brand name, trademark info, and product categories for approval.
If you're just getting started, open a Professional Seller account (not Individual) — Amazon usually processes Brand Registry requests faster when connected to a paid seller account.
