Getting ASINs unblocked due to “Used Sold as New” or restricted policy violations on Amazon can be tough, but it's definitely possible with the right approach and documentation.
1. Understand the Complaint Type Clearly
Go to Account Health → Policy Violations and check exactly what the complaint was. Usually it's “Used Sold as New” if customers reported damaged packaging, cosmetic issues, or opened items.
2. Remove Inventory (If Needed)
If you're using FBA, create a removal order for the affected units. This shows Amazon you’re taking action and also lets you inspect the returned goods.
3. Create a Strong POA (Plan of Action)
Amazon requires:
- Root Cause: Why it happened (e.g., shipping damage, packaging confusion, supplier issues).
- Immediate Fixes: What you did (e.g., pulled inventory, re-checked quality, paused listings).
- Preventive Measures: What you'll do going forward (e.g., new QC process, better packaging, staff training).
4. Provide Supporting Documents Include:
- Invoices from the supplier (dated within last 365 days, showing ASINs, quantities).
- Photos of the product, packaging, and condition.
- Removal reports, if you’ve inspected FBA inventory.
5. Submit Appeal in Seller Central
- Go to Account Health → Policy Violations → View Details for each ASIN.
- Click “Appeal”, then upload your Plan of Action and documentation.
- If multiple ASINs were blocked for the same reason, you can often submit a single appeal referencing all ASINs.
6. Follow Up Through Seller Support or Escalation
If you don’t get a response after a few days or your appeal is rejected, open a case with Amazon support and ask for escalation to the Product Quality Team or Seller Performance.
