I started a campaign with a $200 a day spend. The campaign started 3 hours ago and is already at $300 ad spend for the day and not one conversion. Facebook says it will only spend maximum of $350 for the day. But 3 hours in? And not one conversion? Something must be wrong correct? I live in NY and the spend was for USA and Canada and it spent all of the money overnight. Any advice?

That kind of overspend and zero conversions so early on definitely signals something’s off—either with campaign settings, optimization signals, or tracking setup. 

Spending $300 in 3 hours with no conversions likely means:

- Wrong campaign objective (e.g. not set to conversions)

- Conversion tracking not working (pixel or CAPI not firing)

- Overly broad targeting (USA + Canada with no signals)

- Meta’s front-loaded pacing (it can spend aggressively early)

What to Do:

  1. Pause the campaign now
  2. Check if your purchase/lead events are firing in Events Manager
  3. Lower budget and test with tighter audience or better signals
  4. Only scale once tracking is confirmed and data looks solid
