The FB backend can feel like a maze at first. Here’s a simple, idiot-proof step-by-step guide to help you set up your Facebook Pixel safely and correctly:
STEP 1: Create Your Pixel in Events Manager
Go to Events Manager.
Click “Connect Data Sources” > Web > Get Started.
Choose Facebook Pixel > click Connect.
Give your Pixel a name (e.g., "MyWebsitePixel").
Enter your website URL (optional for now).
Click Continue.
Pixel is now created.
STEP 2: Add Pixel to Your Website
Option A: If You Use a Website Builder (Shopify, Wix, etc.)
Go to Events Manager > Settings tab (inside your Pixel).
Scroll down to Partner Integrations.
Select your platform (e.g., Shopify, WordPress, Wix).
Follow the guided steps — it’s mostly copy-paste Pixel ID.
Done! Most builders now have native Pixel integrations.
Option B: If You Use Custom Code or WordPress with No Plugin
Copy the base Pixel code from Events Manager.
Paste it into your website’s <head> section (every page).
Where to paste it:
STEP 3: Test If It’s Working
Install Facebook Pixel Helper Chrome Extension.
Visit your site.
If the pixel is working, the extension will light up and show events like PageView.
Green means go!
STEP 4: Connect to Your Ad Account
Go to Business Settings > Data Sources > Pixels.
Find your Pixel and click it.
Under “Connected Assets,” click Add Assets.
Select your Ad Account so the Pixel can track users from your ads.
Now the Pixel is fully linked to your ad account.
