Saves alone are often vanity metrics
On Pinterest, lots of people save pins for inspiration, not immediate shopping. Especially for eCommerce, saves can signal interest, but they rarely convert right away.
But you could be missing attribution. Check these:
Conversion Window: Pinterest defaults to 7-day click / 1-day view attribution. If people buy later, conversions may not be attributed.
Tag Setup: Make sure your Pinterest Tag is installed correctly on all pages (Add to Cart, Checkout, Purchase).
Event Testing Tool: Use Pinterest’s Tag Helper to confirm events are firing and passing order values.
What to do next
Treat saves as top-of-funnel signals. Retarget users who saved your pins with conversion-focused campaigns.
Consider promoting pins optimized for Traffic or Conversion rather than Awareness.
Double-check tracking and attribution settings to avoid underreporting sales.
Saves show interest but don’t pay the bills. Use them to build warm audiences and retarget, but don’t expect high conversions from saves alone.
