Actually, there's no real difference. These two terms refer to the same thing in most cases: the 10-digit number that identifies a Google Ads account.
Customer ID
Account ID
A more casual or user-friendly term.
Often used interchangeably in forums, help docs, and by advertisers.
Still refers to the same 10-digit number.
So why the confusion?
It mostly comes down to language:
Google calls it a Customer ID.
Agencies and freelancers might say Account ID, especially when managing multiple accounts.
In MCC (Google Ads Manager Accounts), both terms are used depending on the view.
If someone asks for your Google Ads Account ID, they mean your Customer ID.
Just look at the top right of your Google Ads interface, it’s that 10-digit number formatted like 123-456-7890.
