Here is a step-by-step guide to get your new Facebook page and Instagram account linked.
1. The Fix: Assign Full Control to Your Business Portfolio
The "Other assets" section is a holding place for pages, ad accounts, and other assets that exist but are not yet formally managed by a Business Portfolio. To link the new page, you must first grant your Business Portfolio full control over it.
Go to your new Facebook page (not through Business Suite, but the regular Facebook interface).
From the left-hand menu, click Manage (under your profile picture).
Scroll down and find Page access in the professional dashboard.
Here, you will see a list of people with access. Click Add new and invite the Business Portfolio itself as a person with full control. You may have to enter your personal Facebook password again to confirm this.
The page will then be "owned" by your Business Portfolio.
2. Claim the Assets in Your Business Portfolio
Now that the permissions are set, you can formally claim the assets.
Return to Meta Business Suite.
Go to Settings (gear icon) and click on Accounts.
Click on Pages and then Add page.
Your new page should now appear as an option to add.
Do the same for your Instagram account. In the same Accounts section, click on Instagram accounts and follow the prompts to add it to the portfolio.
3. Add the Assets to a Business Portfolio
The final step is to put your page and Instagram account into a portfolio so they can be managed together.
In Business Suite, go to Settings > Business Portfolio Info.
If you don't have a portfolio, you can create one.
If you have an existing portfolio, go into its settings. You can now add the Facebook Page and Instagram Account you just claimed to this portfolio.
Once you complete these steps, you will be able to manage and link the accounts together seamlessly.
