By January 1, 2026, Amazon stop doing all in-house prep and labeling.
So, if you send inventory to FBA, it has to arrive fully ready(labeled, packaged, and compliant. No exceptions.) from now.
So, here is what these terms really mean:
1. FNSKU Labels
Every single unit needs its own FNSKU barcode, that’s Amazon’s way of knowing it belongs to you.
Print it clearly in black on a white label, at least 1x2 inches, and stick it over the manufacturer’s UPC. Make sure it’s flat, scannable, and not on a curve or seam.
2. Carton Content Labels
Each shipping box needs two Amazon box ID labels (on adjacent sides) and the same details uploaded digitally in Seller Central. That tells Amazon what’s inside every box.
Skip it, and they’ll charge a manual fee or delay your check-in.
3. Packaging Standards
Everything must arrive customer-ready.
- Use sealed poly bags (at least 1.5 mil thick) with suffocation warnings, sturdy boxes under 50 lbs, and bubble-wrap anything fragile.
- If you sell bundles, seal them and add a “Sold as Set – Do Not Separate” label.
So, once Amazon stops offering prep, you will be doing it all.
