To check and sell in ungated categories, the key is using Seller Central correctly and validating each ASIN before you ever buy inventory. In your Professional account, go to Catalog > Add products, then search by ASIN, UPC, or product name. 

If the product is fully ungated for your account, you will see an option like “Sell this product” or “Sell yours”; if it is restricted, you will instead see “Apply to sell,” “Request approval,” or a “Listing limitations apply” link indicating gating at the category, brand, or ASIN level.​

For ungated items, you can proceed immediately: choose condition, set price, and assign your fulfillment as FBA. Next, source the product from reputable wholesale suppliers and create a shipment to an Amazon fulfillment center (FC). Because no category or brand review is required, you can test small quantities and get real sales data within roughly 24–48 hours of the product being received and checked in.

To make this efficient, product research tools such as Helium 10 or similar suites are used to filter for low‑competition, high‑demand ASINs inside those ungated categories, so you avoid saturated listings and protect your margins.
