Expanded Text Ads (ETAs) were a Google Ads format designed for search campaigns. They allowed advertisers to include more information in their ads compared to the older standard text ads. ETAs featured:
- Three Headlines: Up to 30 characters each.
- Two Description Lines: Up to 90 characters each.
- Display URL: Automatically generated, including a domain and customizable path fields.
ETAs were phased out in 2022, with Responsive Search Ads (RSAs) taking their place as the default text ad format.
